“On the day of my last chemo, my fellow Toad Suck Queens came with me to celebrate. We are a group of ambassadors for the Toad Suck Daze festival in Conway. We promote the college scholarships that are given by Toad Suck Daze, advocate for the women’s shelter and participate in local events, parades and fundraisers. Basically we’re a fun group of women doing things to support other women and children.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2013. I got several opinions before I found Dr. Suzanne Klimberg at UAMS. As soon as I met her, we just clicked. I just love all of my doctors – Dr. Klimberg, my surgeon; Dr. Makhoul, my medical oncologist; and Dr. Yuen, my plastic surgeon. They are so wonderful. I had such a great experience at UAMS that I want everyone to know about it.

I told Dr. Makhoul that on my last day of chemo I was going to bring all of the queens with me. We hid in his office to surprise him, and it was hysterical! Then we went down to the Infusion Clinic to try and brighten everyone’s day.

Dr. Klimberg will do my surgery in November. I’m hoping everything will be clear, and I can be one of those girls who just keeps on going!

When something like this happens you have to keep laughing and have a good attitude. The laughter and support of my friends meant so much to me. Life’s too short not to have a good time!”
